We have summer camps for ages 3-18. They are fun filled opportunities for your dancer to learn more than they ever could at another camp. CMSD’s camps have been described as more educational than a New York dance intensive and more fun than a recreational sleep away camp, and it is available right in your area! We have four tiers of camps that allow your dancer to fill their summer in the way that best suits their ability. The camps will conclude with a mini showcase, where all campers will have the opportunity to show off their newly learned skills. Students will be split up on the first day of camp based on AGE, DANCE TECHNIQUE AND LENGTH OF DAY. 3-7 year old students have the option to sign up for morning only or the whole day. It is suggested that 3 year olds only do a half day.
Camps run from 9-5 daily with the option of early drop off (8:00AM) and late pick up (6:00PM)

Prices are for 1 week of camp unless otherwise stated
Our youngest and least experienced campers can plan to enjoy a fun filled morning with a myriad of creativity including, but not limited to ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, gymnastics, story time, singing and art.
$75 Half Day 9-12 (the week of July 4th: $60)
$150 3/4 Day 9-3 (the week of July 4th: $120)
$200 full Day 9-5 (not recommended for children under 8, unless it is need based) Children under 8 will be given some quiet reading, art, etc

Creative Movement School of Dance Summer Camps Starting August 20th

I have had lots of requests for Summer Camp information so hopefully if you are looking for camps this post will help you out.
Here is a list of local camps I have put together. Many town parks and recreation departments host summer camps. They are not included on the list. Be sure to check your towns website (or call) to see what is being offered.
Free summer theater program for kids!
If you have a child interested in Theater don’t miss this FREE Shakespeare Summer Theater Program!
This is a six-week, free summer theater program for kids between the ages of 11 and 17, running from July 5, 2012 to August 10, 2012. The Project is run by students from Dartmouth College and consists of rehearsals, textual work, communication exercises, movement, acting training, theater games, vocal training, and theater education. Our summer’s rehearsals will conclude with a performance of Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night’s Dream on August 10!
The Project, which is graciously sponsored by the Winthrop Bean Fund for Theatre Arts, is completely free for the kids who participate. All children between the ages of 11 and 17 are welcome, regardless of economic background. Participants who do not have access to private transportation will be picked up at the Advanced Transit stop in Hanover upon request.
Rehearsals will run from 2-5pm on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, beginning on July 5, and will be held at the Howe Library in Hanover. Click here for more information or to sign up.

Clara Intensive
Age: 9-15 Cost: $200 Time: 9:30-4:30 Date: July 9-13
Description: Campers will be exposed to Acting, Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Modern and contact. During this camp, we will make decisions for the 2012 Clara.
Age: 12-18 Cost: $200 Time: 9:30-4:30 Date: August 13-17
Description: Campers will be exposed to Acting, Ballet, Tap, Jazz and Modern and partnering. During this camp, we will make decisions for the 2012 Nutcracker Soloists.

Time: 9:30am-4:30pm (early and late drop off/pick ups available $5 each/day)Description: Campers will enjoy a fun filled day with a myriad of dance forms including ballet, tap, jazz, hip hop, gymnastics, etc.
Ages 10-15
This camp is a 1 to 4 week session.
Dates: July 16-August 10
Cost: $250/1 week $750/ 4 weeks
Time: 8am-6pm
Description: This is a three part camp. Campers learn the ins and outs of putting together a performance, including sewing costumes, choreographing and music choice, etc and put them to use. They will learn how to teach and will have the opportunity to assist classes. They will take a number of technique classes each week that will allow them to advance quickly in dance. This camp is designed to be repeated summer after summer and is most rewarding to second and third year campers. Studio assistants are chosen from campers who have successfully participated in this camp. Student teachers are not considered until they have successfully participated in at least 3 summers of this camp, as important information is studied and explored during their time in the camp.
Ages 14-18
Camp is offered in one week sessions and is limited to two campers a week. Please apply via email with an essay explaining what you hope to gain from this experience and what you think you can bring to the camp.
Dates: July 16-August 10
Cost: $75 per week
Time: 8am-6pm
Description: This is a two part camp. Campers will take 4.5 hours of class during the day and assist head teachers during the rest of the day as an opportunity to become teachers themselves. These campers will be guided to become well rounded dancers and teachers and will be expected to maintain themselves in a professional manner at all times.

Montshire Summer Camps
Registration is open for the Montshire Museam summer camps and they are filling up quickly. Don’t forget that you can save when you register for more then one session of summer camp. You will save $15 when you register for two weeks,and save $30 when you register for three weeks.
